Episode 31: Womb magic, mindful menstruation and period power, with Lara Raybone
This episode celebrates periods and womb magic. I talk to sensual embodiment coach Lara Raybone who loves getting her period! “It holds SO much potent power, which is why we’ve been conditioned to reject our period and see it as “gross” or “inconvenient”. The truth is, when we connect to our bodies and our cycles, we connect to our power. The power of creation. Reclaiming our bodies is the path to wild liberation and deep love.”
If you don’t have a physical womb you still have an energetic womb. Our wombs are a creative portal, and the phases of our cycles are sacred.
Mindful Menstruation Phases
Luteal phase (c. days 17-28 of your cycle)
The luteal phase is connected to the wild woman archetype. It’s known as the autumn phase of your cycle where whatever needs to be released during your bleed is brought to the surface. Honour yourself during this scared phase by creating space for self-expression and listening to whatever is coming up for you.
Menstruation (c. days 1-5)
Your bleed is known as the winter phase. Your energy tends to go inward during this time. What came up in your luteal phase can be released intentionally in your winter phase. You can do this through meditation by putting your hands over your womb and consciously releasing what you are ready to let go of through your blood. This is the time to do whatever feels nourishing. Try a warm bath with rose petals and code the water with love and support. Choose white roses for purification or red roses to honour yourself with love and romance. Hibiscus and chamomile tea and both very supportive during the bleed phase. And you can add Himalayan salts, Epsom salts and fresh thyme to the bath help to support release.
Follicular phase (c. days 6-13)
The follicular phase is your inner springtime. It’s your seed planting phase. Your energy levels begin to rise. This is a great time for trying new things and being active.
Ovulation (c. days 14-16)
The ovulation phase is your inner summer. This is your most magnetic time. Optimise this, plan sales pitches and important events for this time! Your energy is at its highest when you’re ovulating. This is the time to do anything that lights you up.

Meditate. Connect to your heart, soul and womb. Feel your breath, breathe into your womb, make space to be creative.
Plan around your moon phases so you can work with your cycle and look after your needs during each phase.
Ask for tender loving support from your partner, or the future partner you're manifesting, so you’re both honouring your cycle. Children can witness this honouring and learn how powerful and divine the menstrual cycle is.
Use a moon cup to connect to the colour and texture of your blood and be present with it. Your blood is yours. It’s part of you. It’s so powerful to connect to your body, to your blood and to nature. Your blood contains all the vital nutrients for creating life. You can use blood from your moon cup, or soak your period pants in water and use the water, to make offerings to the land. It’s a beautiful time to say a prayer for yourself, for loved ones, for the earth.
Pro abundance tip - pour some moon blood into your money plant!
And remember to always honour your body and your partner’s body by having sexual health checks before sharing sacred secretions!
